Privacy policy
Last updated: [DATE — update when finalised]
Who I am
This website is run by Nicole Pollen, trading as Oakhurst Learning ("I", "me"). I am the data controller for any personal information collected through this site. You can contact me about anything in this policy at enquiries@oakhurstdyslexiasupport.co.uk [placeholder — confirm address].
What information I collect, and why
When you contact me through the enquiry form or by email, I receive the information you choose to share — typically your name, your email address or phone number, and your message, which may include information about your child.
I use this information only to reply to you and to provide the support you ask about. The lawful basis for this under UK GDPR is legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry) and, if we go on to work together, the performance of our agreement.
Information about children
Because of the nature of my work, your messages may include sensitive information about your child's learning. I treat all such information as confidential, store it securely, and never share it with anyone without your consent, unless I am required to by law or by safeguarding obligations.
How the enquiry form works
The enquiry and waiting-list forms are processed by Netlify, which hosts this website and delivers your message to my email inbox. Netlify processes your data on my behalf; you can read its privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use cookies, analytics or any tracking technology, and your visit is not profiled. The only thing stored on your device is a temporary flag that stops the assessment waiting-list popup reappearing during your visit; it identifies nothing about you and is deleted when you close your browser. If anything more is ever added, this policy will be updated first, and any non-essential cookies will only be set with your consent.
How long I keep your information
I keep enquiry messages for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. If we work together, I keep records for as long as I support your child and afterwards only as long as I am legally or professionally required to. If you enquire but we don't go on to work together, I delete your details within [X months — confirm].
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, just email me. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
